National Fishing & Boating Week

(June 2-10, 2007)
National Fishing and Boating Week (NFBW) is an annual, national celebration of fishing and boating coordinated by RBFF.  Coinciding with most state’s free fishing days, NFBW occurs the first full week of June.  Search for NFBW events in your community!

Great Outdoors Month  (June 2007)  - "Get Active and Get Outdoors"
Take Me Fishing and RBFF are among the partners who support Great Outdoors Month.
June is an especially active time for recreation in America, with millions of us commencing summertime activities and hundreds of annual events and meetings ranging from National Trails Day to National Boating and Fishing Week, National Family Recreation Week to National Clean Beaches Week. Recognition of the value of recreation and the importance of June as a time of recreation activity prompted Presidential designation of June as Great Outdoors Month for the first time in 2004.

National Marina Day (August 11, 2026)
National Marina Day focuses specifically on two central themes: the important role marinas play as safe, family-friendly gateways to boating, and the invaluable service marina operators and owners perform as stewards of the environment.  Learn more!

Take Pride in America is a national partnership established by the U.S. Department of the Interior that aims to engage, support and recognize volunteers who work to improve our public parks, forests, grasslands, wildlife refuges, cultural and historical sites, local playgrounds and other recreation areas. Together we protect and enhance the special legacy all Americans share — our public lands that cover more than one in every three acres across the Nation.

National Public Lands Day (September 29, 2026)  Public lands offer a variety of fishing and boating opportunities. National Public Lands Day is the nation’s largest hands-on volunteer effort to improve and enhance the public lands. In 2005, nearly 90,000 volunteers built trails and bridges, planted trees and plants, and removed trash and invasive plants. Join others on Saturday, September 29, 2026 for the 13th annual National Public Lands Day and help us care for our land.

American Rivers is a conservation organization dedicated to protecting and restoring healthy natural rivers and the variety of life they sustain for people, fish, and wildlife. They deliver innovative solutions to improve river health, raise awareness among decision-makers and the public and serve and mobilize the river conservation movement. June is National Rivers Month - see how you can get involved!
