Water conservation urged

CLIFTON PARK -- The Clifton Park Water Authority (CPWA) is asking users to cut their water in half in order to avoid a total ban on outside water use.
''It's 90 degrees and no rain in a month and a half and we're getting hammered,'' said CPWA Administrator Doug Connor.
According to Connor, well levels are approaching the record low levels set during the drought of 1999.
During the month of July, CPWA averaged 4.14 million gallons per day, their second highest month ever and well above the average of 2.9 million gallons per day.
During the first part of the week, Connor said CPWA pumped more than 5 million gallons per day.
