Fly Girls
Providing women with educational opportunities in the field of fly fishing.
Flygirls of Michigan, Inc. was founded in 1996 to provide fly fishing opportunities for women. We regularly schedule fly fishing outings around the state of Michigan as well as occasional trips outside state boundaries. In addition, we periodically offer classes on the art and sport of casting, fly tying, insect identification, knots and rigging, rod building and other related topics. Fishing outings have focused on trout, panfish, smallmouth bass, steelhead and salmon. Outings are primarily recreational, but instruction is usually available. Besides fishing, Flygirls offers quiet retreats where women gather to share skills related to fly fishing, crafts, art or inspirational topics.
