Hain is located in Ford County approximately 5 miles north and 8 miles west of Dodge City and is 2 1/4 miles east of US 283. The property is leased from the owners to supply hunting and fishing opportunity. The area consists of 20 acres of uplands and 30 surface acres of lake. Due to its shallow depth, Hain supplies excellent wetland habitat. However, the lake may go dry during drought periods. When water is available, the Department stocks this lake with catchable-size channel catfish and largemouth bass. Bluegill and bullhead catfish may also be available.

Special Safety Information for Hain State Fishing Lake:
Boats are allowed on the lake, but no boat ramps is available. The primary use of the area is waterfowl hunting. The area is closed to vehicle traffic from Sept. 1 to the end of March. Walk-in traffic is welcome both for fishing and hunting.
Special Regulations for Hain State Fishing Lake:
Special creel and length limits may be in effect for some fish species. Check the Department website http://www.kdwp.state.ks.us/fishing/Fish_Regs.html and all posted notices before fishing.
