These vessels are used in both commercial and recreational fishing.
More than half of the vessels are decked with enclosed areas and are fully mechanized. The un-decked vessels are powered by sail and oars. Many recreational fishing vessels are not often dedicated entirely for fishing. Rather they are used for recreational purposes. Some of the commonly used recreational fishing vessels are dugout canoes, pantoon boats etc. Many boats with the sole purpose of fishing have large cockpits, so that it will be easy to fish.
