Trout fishing like old days
By Ron Wilson, [email protected]
Finally! Some trout fishing like the good old days.
On Saturday, Joe Franscella of Ripon, guide Bruce Hamby, David Pratt and I went to Lake Camanche to fish for trout.
I went for trout, anyway, because if there is a salmon in a lake that Bruce is fishing, he is going to try to catch it.
None of us had fished the lake this year, so Bruce asked me where I would go. I suggested the dam area.
Bruce started off with his shad while I rigged up nothing but Ex-Cels. We hadn't gone too far when I said, "Fish On." It was on Joe's side of the boat and he reeled in a hefty rainbow in the 2-pound class. The fish fell for a blue/pink Ex-Cel.
