Boat Show Casts Off 55th Time
The 55th Jacksonville Marine Association Boat-A-Rama boat show runs today through Sunday at the Prime Osborn Convention Center downtown. Motor yachts of up to more than 40 feet will be on display, as well as smaller craft ranging from canoes, kayaks, inflatables and personal watercraft to fishing boats, ski boats, runabouts, family cruisers and platform boats. Dealers in marine accessories, financial and insurance institutions, clothing outlets and volunteer boating-education organizations, such as the Coast Guard Auxiliary and U.S. Power Squadrons, also will be represented.
The show will be the first opportunity for anglers to register for and get information on the BellSouth Greater Jacksonville Kingfish Tournament in July. The special registration rate at the show is $325 per boat. That goes up to $350 until April 2, when the fee rises to $375.
Admission to the show is $6 for adults and $3 for children, with kids under 6 admitted free. There's also a $4 charge for parking in city lots around the convention center.
