Nick Carter Wins Boat Race
Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter has had a successful debut in powerboat racing. The singer watched his team win the first race of this year's American Powerboat Association Offshore Tour.
The event marked the debut of Carter's 40-foot (13-metre) Super Vee-Class boat. It had never been tested before in open-water competition. Nick says, "I didn't expect we would do so well. I would have been happy just to place."
The singer also said he was "seriously thinking" about buying another race boat and running it himself. He adds, "I've really gotten into the sport. I'll start off in one of the smaller classes, learn all I can."
