Catch a fish in your own backyard

Hatchery chinook salmon season in the Boise River opens Saturday.
The Idaho Fish and Game Commission approved the season to last through September third.
The commission also increased the statewide season limit on hatchery salmon to 40, for anglers who purchase a second salmon permit.
The Boise River will be stocked with fish from the Rapid River hatchery. The salmon will be released between the Glenwood Bridge and the Barber Dam.
Fishing is allowed 24 hours a day in the Boise River, as long as anglers have valid fishing licenses and salmon permits.
