Global Seafood Technologies Inc. to Market Motion Sickness Aid
BILOXI, Miss., Feb. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Killer Bee Bait a subsidiary of Global Seafood Technologies Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: GSFT) will market motion sickness relief bands with the Killer Bee brand throughout the United States under an agreement with Woodside Biomedical, Calif., Brent Gutierrez, Global Seafood's president and CEO announced today.
"We believe a vast untapped market of potential recreational fishers exists. These would-be fishermen are landlocked by motion sickness, or more commonly, seasickness," said Gutierrez. "Our Killer Bee subsidiary already supplies frozen saltwater bait to more than 600 corporate and independent outlets. So, this is a natural extension of our brand-building strategy to market complementary non-bait products alongside the bait products."
Woodside Biomedical developed the pharmaceutical device to alleviate nausea. The bands, worn on the wrist, will produce nerve impulses to eliminate nausea. They have proved effective in up to 80 percent of its users, especially when treating pregnancy induced morning sickness. Killer Bee will expand the product's marketing by offering relief of the nausea symptoms commonly called "seasickness" to the recreational fishing industry. Beginning with Boater's World outlet in the southeast, the bands will be sold in two varieties: a disposable band with a 144-hour life, and a band that uses replaceable batteries.
Global Seafood Technologies is the largest individual quick freeze (IQF) shrimp processor in the United States. Global Seafood's subsidiary, Custom Pack, processes and packages shrimp for many of the nation's largest seafood chains and grocery outlets. In addition, the company is expanding its aquaculture activities with freshwater shrimp production. The company markets bait to the recreational fishing industry through its Killer Bee Bait subsidiary. The company website, www.globalsea.com offers more detailed information.
