Brunswick to Acquire Sealine International
Brunswick Corporation

LAKE FOREST, Ill., June 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Brunswick Corporation (NYSE:
BC) and Sealine International Limited announced today the signing of a
definitive agreement covering the acquisition of Sealine by Brunswick for total
consideration of approximately $68 million. Total consideration consists of
approximately $31 million in cash, the assumption of debt and the issuance
of notes to certain sellers.

Headquartered in Kidderminster, England, Sealine is a leading
manufacturer of luxury sports cruisers and motoryachts from 24 to 51 feet in length,
which are sold throughout the world. Sealine's sales in fiscal 2001 totaled
approximately $70 million. Reflective of their superior quality and innovative features, Sealine boats have won the coveted British Nautical Motorboat of the Year award twice in the last three years.

"The addition of Sealine is an important first step in fulfilling our
strategy of building a truly global boat company," said Brunswick Chairman
and Chief Executive Officer George W. Buckley. "A premium brand recognized for
distinctive styling and quality, Sealine's reputation for innovation and performance make this an ideal fit for Brunswick. While we currently export Sea Ray and Bayliner boats, Sealine provides us with a platform for growth in international markets with products featuring the styling and amenities that meet the needs and tastes of European consumers."

"In Brunswick, we have found a colleague that shares our appreciation
for the high standards required to produce a range of luxury pleasure boats as
well as a passion for improving and enhancing the boating experience," said
Gerard B. Wainwright, chairman of Sealine. "We are excited about the
prospects ahead. Being a part of the world's largest pleasure boat company
will afford us the resources and opportunity to accelerate the growth of our
business. We welcome the opportunity to exchange ideas, technologies and
expertise with the other Brunswick boat companies."

"As evidenced by its two recent Motorboat of the Year awards and
financial performance, Sealine represents a brand whose equity is growing," Buckley
added. "This acquisition is an excellent example of the kind of company and
brand that will help us solidify our global presence. Its popularity is
testimony to Sealine's dogged adherence to blending traditional
craftsmanship with engineering excellence. We look forward to what we will accomplish
together."

Sealine will become part of the Brunswick Boat Group and will continue
to be based in Kidderminster. Mr. Wainwright will remain chairman of Sealine,
reporting to Dustan E. McCoy, president of the Brunswick Boat Group.

The company said the acquisition is expected to close by the end of June
and is contingent upon regulatory approval and certain closing conditions.

Headquartered in Lake Forest, Illinois (near Chicago), Brunswick
Corporation is a $3.8 billion marketer and manufacturer of leading consumer
