Ramp reminder: City police to enforce boat-parking area rules
Beginning this weekend, city police will step up enforcement of parking regulations at the Second Street and Hayes boat ramps.
According to a press release, officers will be posted at the ramps this weekend and following weekends as needed through Sept. 30 to enforce the regulations.
On Saturdays and Sundays, as well as on Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day no vehicles may be parked at the Second Street boat ramp unless they have boat trailers, said Henderson Police Chief Ed Brady. Vehicles can park there during the week but are limited to two hours at a time.
Any time a vehicle is pulling a boat trailer, either at the Second Street or Hayes boat ramps, that trailer must have the city issued boat-launching permit attached to the wench stand.
The permit can be purchased for $10 at the Utility Collection Department located on the ground floor of the city building.
