Fishing Hall to host fisheries symposium
A symposium scheduled for Jan. 9-11, 2003, at the International Game Fish Association Fishing Hall of Fame in Dania Beach will bring together researchers, managers and sport fishermen to share their knowledge and concerns for the little-known biology and life histories of tarpon and bonefish. The goal is to focus on future efforts to build sustainable fisheries for the species.
The event is sponsored by the IGFA, Bonefish and Tarpon Unlimited, Tarpon Tomorrow and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
A Thursday night kickoff party at Islamorada Fish Co. will be followed by two days of presentations and panel discussions.
It is open to the public.
A $175 registration fee includes the kickoff party, seminar and Friday dinner.
