The Marine Technology Society Launches Its New Website
WASHINGTON, Feb. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- The Marine Technology Society is pleased to announce the launch of its newly designed website at www.mtsociety.org . The website offers many new services, products, and information for everyone interested in marine science and technology.
www.mtsociety.org is the ideal site to visit for up to date information on the ocean community. Viewers will have ready access to business news, science and education news, and product information by reading the online version of our monthly newsletter Currents. People seeking answers to questions can take advantage of our searchable sponsor database, providing ready access to marine products and services. Professionals looking for employment can peruse the job opening announcements in the employment section. And prospective employers and others can review online member resumes.
For students, researchers and scientists, our website offers a free, searchable database of abstracts from the internationally recognized MTS Journal. Abstracts can be downloaded for free. Reprints of entire articles and the MTS Journal can be purchased through the online shopping cart. All publications, including journals, conference and workshop proceedings, and educational material are available for online purchase.
The education section posts information of interest to students from kindergarten through graduate school. There are downloadable applications for MTS scholarships and to links to other sources for college funding. Find links to other programs, marine centers, and student competitions. Youngsters can find cool links to science sites.
MTS membership has its benefits. MTS members can take advantage of many free services: they can post resumes, search the membership directory, and start dialogues on the member message board. Member businesses, corporations and institutions can create a sponsor profile, entering them into our sponsor database. The database is searchable by all visitors to the website. In addition, member businesses can post job openings at no cost.
The Marine Technology Society represents an international community of ocean scientists, policy-makers, engineers, technologists and students. Founded in 1963, its membership consists of individual members, businesses, corporations, libraries, and institutions. The Society's mission is to disseminate marine science and technical knowledge; promote and support education for marine scientists, engineers and technicians; advance the development of tools and procedures required to explore, study and further the responsible and sustainable use of the oceans; and to provide services that create a broader understanding of the relevance of the marine sciences to other technologies, arts and human affairs.
