Twenty-acre Conservation Easement Donated

JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) - A Jackson Hole couple has donated a 20-acre conservation easement to the Jackson Hole Land Trust.

The land owned by Susan Williams and Kirby and Stephanie Williams is surrounded by several properties that are also protected by conservation easements from further development, according to trust officials.

"This is one of the most important ecological areas of Jackson Hole," said Leslie Mattson-Emerson, the group's executive director.

"Combined with the protected properties around it, this easement provides an incredible, intact environment for the many wildlife species that inhabit this area."

The land was part of the original ranch Kirby Williams' stepfather, Byron Jenkins, bought in the late 1930s. Susan said it was always Jenkins' intent to keep the land unfenced for the sake of wildlife.
