Press Release
YMCA to Auction Cars, Boats
By Lynne Munn, [email protected]
More than 30 boats will be sold during Saturday's YMCA car and boat auction in Naples.
Selections include everything from a 31.4-foot 1989 Sea Ray Weekender with twin Mercury gas inboard engines to a 13-foot Old Town canoe. Also up for sale are more than 30 cars, including a 1969 Mercedes 280SL.
The sale is one of three scheduled each year by the YMCA of Collier County. A portion of the money raised from items donated by Bonita residents will go toward the building of the Bonita YMCA.
"We have at least two boats and eight cars to be sold for Bonita," said Gretchen Nelson, spokeswoman for the YMCA sale. "That's good. Bonita donations are up each time."
Nelson said they have set a $145,000 gross goal for this auction. "We could make it," Nelson said. "It's all up to the bidders."
