$50,000 Fish in Trinity Lake, California

Trinity Lake, CA -- One lucky winner will walk away with $50,000 in cash if they catch the grand prize fish during Forever Resorts' $50,000 Trinity Lake Fishing Contest June 7-9, 2002. The contest is being sponsored and held at Trinity Lake Resorts and Marinas.
Thirty-tagged Chinook salmon will be released at Trinity Lake with one designated as the $50,000 grand prize fish. Other prizes, valued at over $25,000, will include 7-day/6-night 56* luxury houseboat rental vacations from Forever Resorts' Trinity Lake Resort & Marina along with weekly cabin rentals, along with powerboat, personal watercraft and deck cruiser rentals as other prizes.
The contest begins at 7:00 AM, June 7 and ends at 7:00 PM, June 9, 2002. Contest officials will catch, tag and release the 30 fish at various locations on the lake. The contest registration is free to those who have a valid California fishing license and adhere to fishing regulations and contest rules. Minors are encouraged to participate and fish but must be registered by a parent or legal guardian and fish under the adult's supervision. This event corresponds with the "Free Fishing Day" on June 8, 2002, allowing anyone to fish all California lakes. Allowing the participants in the contest on Saturday to not have to purchase a fishing license.
Trinity Lake is located in northern California, one hour west of Redding, in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. The Forever Resorts operation at Trinity Lake is partnering with the Shasta-Trinity National Forest Service, California Department of Fish and Game and the Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation's Water Works WondersTM in an effort to educate the public about Trinity Lake.
"Not only will this contest possibly make someone $50,000 richer, but it will also increase exposure of fishing at Trinity Lake and encourage the California Department of Fish and Game to increase the number of fish stocked for next year," stated Tim Colvin, General Manager of Trinity Lake Resorts and Marinas.
