Christmas Afloat: Boat Parade Shines As A Seasonal Spectacle

HOMOSASSA -- Boats aglow with Christmas lights and other festive decorations will take to the Homosassa River during the boat parade Saturday.
The parade starts at 6 p.m. at Marker 75 on the river, near the community of Riverhaven.
From there, the boat parade will head up to the Blue Waters area of the river, which is at the bridge off Fishbowl Drive, then turn around and head back to Magic Manatee Marina.
"The parade should last until 8:30 or 9 at night," said Kitty Barnes, executive director of the Homosassa Springs Chamber of Commerce, the parade's sponsor.
Expect about 20 boats to participate in the parade, she said.
