3/12/2025 FishingLife Pro Tips Off Anglers with Spring Fishing Advice
FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla., March 12 /PRNewswire/ -- FishingLife professional angler Donuel Bruno has some advice for spring catches: Don't forget the sluggish fish and you'll double your chances of success.
Bruno says that, as fish start staging in breaks and points to prepare for spawning, some become very aggressive, while others need a little more coaxing.
"Start off looking for the active fish with spinner or crankbaits," says Bruno. "Then come back to the same spot and slowly present a floating worm. Or start off the opposite way. Let the fish talk to you by how they respond."
Anglers can soon learn more from Bruno in his monthly columns at FishingLife.com's online magazine. Bruno's advice is straightforward and conversational, offering easy-to-remember tips to help anglers of all experience levels. Links to Bruno's columns will also be offered in FishingLife's sister electronic newsletter publications that go directly to 150,000 subscribers.
Before becoming a full-time fishing pro, Bruno hosted fishing seminars throughout Indiana. As sponsorships grew, he made fishing his number-one job.
"There have been a lot of things I've committed myself to and I've been successful at," says Bruno. "But they didn't compare with my love of fishing."
Recent competitive successes include reputable finishes last year at a BASS federation tournament on the Ohio River in Indiana; Bassmaster Top 150 Tournament on the Potomac River in Maryland; and the Bassmaster Western Invitational on the Columbia River in Kennewick, Wash. He's now preparing to compete this spring at the BASS Western Invitational in Las Vegas, and in Oakley, Calif.
Along the way, he'll pass along what's he learned in his FishingLife.com articles. "The FishingLife.com team has been great," says Bruno. "I look forward to a long relationship."
