Wildlife Community Eagerly Adopts Online Registration of Licenses and Permits
Information Network of Arkansas and Arkansas Game and Fish

LITTLE ROCK, Ark., June 28 /PRNewswire/ -- The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has seen a steady increase in the adoption rate of online users from the wildlife community. The recently completed Elk Permits had more online registrants than ever before. Over 55 percent of this years participants completed their applications online.

This news comes almost one year after Arkansas resident and non-resident hunting and fishing licenses, and a variety of other stamps and permits were made available for purchase directly from the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission (AGFC) website at www.agfc.com. On June 28, 2000, AGFC implemented the software designed by the Information Network of Arkansas (INA) that allows anyone with an internet connection, a credit card, and a printer to purchase and print a valid license from anywhere in the world, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

"This is the kind of success we were after. Doing these permits online is a win-win situation for everyone," said AGFC Communications Director Len Pitcock. "And, it's not just permits ... Hunters and anglers alike are taking advantage of the services now provided at our website. The feedback has been tremendous."

While online licensing is still relatively new for AGFC, it has been extremely popular with hunters and anglers. More than 10,000 hunting and fishing licenses (not including permits) have been purchased directly from the AGFC website in just under one year.

The service also allows online users to provide their email addresses to receive electronic notification when your application is selected and give you the option to also pay for your permit online. Once your email address is in the database, you will be notified when the next application period starts.

The following issuances can be purchased directly from the AGFC website: Fishing Licenses (Resident and Non-Resident), Hunting Licenses (Resident and Non-Resident), Combination Sportsman's License (Resident), Arkansas Duck Stamp and Leased Land Permits.
