Manatee deaths in Cape, other areas to be watched over next three months
Cape Coral got a step closer to ending a boat-dock building moratorium Thursday when a federal agency agreed to review some of its rulings.
U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service officials said in a teleconference meeting with Cape Coral, Lee County and elected officials that it will review the criteria it used to create an area of inadequate protection, which is the zone that U.S. Fish denies dock permits.

The review includes monitoring manatee mortality for the next three months.
