Thorne named Game & Fish interim director
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) -- Gov. Jim Geringer on Saturday appointed Tom Thorne as interim director of the Wyoming Game and Fish Department.
Thorne replaces John Baughman, whose resignation was effective Friday.
Thorne has worked for the department for about 35 years and has served as the chief of the Game and Fish Services Division for the last three.
"I am very impressed with Tom's lengthy and respected work in wildlife health and management," Geringer said. "Tom has an extraordinary reputation for being objective both in Wyoming and out of state."
Thorne has a bachelor's degree in zoology and a doctorate in veterinary medicine from Oklahoma State University.
